Harper's Magazine

In 1987, Harper's magazine, “in the interest of moral instruction and clarification," asked several leading advertising agencies to develop ads promoting the seven deadly sins­ wrath, lust, avarice, gluttony, sloth, envy, and pride-and ran the ads in the November issue.

This week's assignment was based off this event. We were instructed to do a full page ad selling some sort of virtue. I chose lust and chose chastity as my virtue. I used Marilyn Monroe as my "sex symbol". I chose a quote to hopefully change someone's inordinate craving. The original color scheme was to go vintage but later turn into something more modern and colorful. I still love the outcome and I believe the message still gets across.
